Rockefeller State Park Preserve
New York, July 2021

Located an hour drive away from the City of New York is a wonderful 1700 acres Rockefeller State Park Preserve, a collection of Pocantico Hills and Rockwood Hall estates gifted by the Rockefeller family to the state of New York. With its numerous and well maintained hike trails, forest streams and picturesque lakes the preserve is a great place to visit for a relaxing stroll in nature. Its easy trails are we well suited for the entire family.

Undisturbed nature and wild plants are seen throughout the preserve providing a welcome escape from the busy city life.

Swan Lake is located a short walk from the Visitors Center and is surrounded by hiking trails, which permit for beautiful views of the water from all angles.

There are many hiking trails throughout the preserve. Take a leisure walk and let you mind wonder, see the ferns and grasses around you, listen to the birds and wind in the trees. Let the smells and sounds of forest surround you.

Hidden wonders are awaiting those who look closely.

The Swan Lake will peek from behind the trees along the trail path, showing off its different characters - some parts are clear water, others covered with plants.

Lots of attractive botanicals are awaiting a plant lover, all you need is a sharp eye and a good camera.

One does not need to wonder off the trail to be greeted by a brightly colored forest resident.

Despite being a popular park you will find yourself mostly alone on its grounds with only an occasional passer by. Breath in the tranquility.

On a good summer day the sky turns the lake deep blue color and lets the clouds bathe gently among its shallow waves.

It was a beautiful day update New York, we enjoyed our peaceful time here. We left feeling calm, rejuvenated and grateful to the people who made the park possible.
